March 20th, 2025

This spring, from April 3rd to 5th, Park City, Utah, will host the inaugural Spring Edition of the Park City Wine Festival. Featuring over 80 wineries, the festival offers grand tastings, expertly paired dinners and lunches at top local restaurants, and engaging seminars led by industry experts. Attendees can immerse themselves in the world of wine while enjoying the scenic mountain backdrop and live music.

Complementing this celebration of flavors, Gallery MAR here on Main Street, continues our tradition of showcasing fresh and lively artistic visions.

Inspired by Park City’s Spring Wine Fest, we’ve paired the fine artworks from Gallery MAR with various wine selections, creating a harmonious blend of visual and sensory experiences that can occur when fine art meets fine wine.

CHARDONNAY

Stefan Heyer

Stefan Heyer, “Secret Garden,” mixed media, 87″ x 77″

Like a well-balanced Chardonnay, Stefan Heyer’s mixed media artwork at Gallery MAR embodies both richness and vibrancy. The creamy, buttery hues in his pieces mirror the smooth, full-bodied texture of a classic Chardonnay, while the bursts of color add an unexpected zest—much like the citrus and tropical fruit notes that elevate the wine’s complexity. Heyer’s golden undertones evoke the sunlit warmth of an oaked Chardonnay, inviting viewers into a world that feels both luminous and layered. Just as a fine Chardonnay lingers on the palate, his work leaves a lasting impression, making this pairing a celebration of depth, contrast, and golden harmony.

MALBEC

Matt Flint

Matt Flint, “We Will Keep Together,” mixed media, 50″ x 50″

Matt Flint’s mixed media wildlife portraits at Gallery MAR find a perfect match in the bold, inky depths of a Malbec. Just as this deep-hued wine reveals layers of dark fruit, spice, and earthiness, Flint’s artwork unfolds through its rich, black-and-white contrasts. His expressive brushwork and textured surfaces mirror Malbec’s complexity—both striking yet inviting. The wine’s velvety depth resonates with the moody, shadowed tones in Flint’s pieces, while hints of bright acidity reflect the movement and vitality in his depictions of nature. Together, Malbec and Flint’s art create a pairing that is both intense and elegant, capturing the beauty of the wild with every sip and brushstroke.

CHAMPAGNE

Fred Calleri

Fred Calleri, “Summit Fever,” oil, 24″ x 30″

Fred Calleri’s oil paintings at Gallery MAR, with their whimsical charm and vintage-inspired ski scenes, are the perfect match for a glass of Champagne. Like Calleri’s playful, nostalgic figures, Champagne brings an effervescent joy that feels both classic and celebratory. As the ultimate après-ski indulgence, Champagne’s crisp bubbles and golden sparkle beautifully complement the lighthearted, adventurous spirit of Calleri’s work. His paintings capture a world where style and fun collide—just like the first refreshing sip of Champagne after a day on the slopes. Together, they create a pairing that’s effervescent, elegant, and endlessly delightful.

CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Jane Maxwell

Jane Maxwell, “Purple Cape,” mixed media, 32″ x 32″

Jane Maxwell’s mixed media artwork at Gallery MAR is a striking match for the bold, full-bodied character of a Cabernet Sauvignon. Just as this deep, complex wine commands attention with its rich tannins and dark fruit notes, Maxwell’s work exudes power through layered textures and strong, feminine figures. Her bold compositions and confident aesthetic mirror Cabernet’s intensity—each sip, like her art, leaves a lasting impression. Both are unapologetically strong, sophisticated, and full of depth, making this pairing a celebration of confidence and artistic expression.

ROSÉ

Hunt Slonem

Hunt Slonem, “3 Cabbage Butterflies,” oil, 10″ x 7″

Hunt Slonem’s vibrant, whimsical artwork at Gallery MAR pairs effortlessly with a glass of Rosé—both bursting with color, charm, and playful elegance. Just as Rosé ranges from pale blush to deep pink, Slonem’s expressive bunnies and butterflies dance across canvases in a joyful spectrum of hues. His work, like the wine, is lighthearted yet sophisticated, offering layers of texture and delight. Whether crisp and refreshing or rich and fruit-forward, Rosé mirrors the lively energy and dynamic range of Slonem’s art, making this pairing a celebration of pure, radiant joy.

RIESLING

Sara Edgar

Sara Edgar, “Postcard #4 (Pool House),” acrylic, 42″ x 54″

Sara Edgar’s paintings at Gallery MAR capture a sense of pure and playful joy—much like a beautifully balanced Riesling. With its crisp acidity and delicate sweetness, Riesling is known for its bright, refreshing purity, mirroring the lighthearted, nostalgic essence of Edgar’s work. Her tongue-in-cheek compositions evoke a sense of fun and wonder, just as a sip of Riesling brings a lively energy to the palate. Whether dry or slightly sweet, this wine’s versatility and freshness make it the perfect match for Edgar’s art—both inviting, uplifting, and filled with a sense of unfiltered delight.

SYRAH

Bridgette Meinhold

Bridgette Meinhold, “Come to Your Senses,” cold wax, 47″ x 30″

Bridgette Meinhold’s atmospheric mountain landscapes at Gallery MAR find a perfect match in a rich, cold-weather Syrah. Just as Syrah thrives in cooler climates, Meinhold’s encaustic paintings beautifully capture the serenity of snowy peaks. The deep, brambly berry notes of the wine — full of mixed mountain berries — echo the dreamy mountain layers in her work, creating a sense of depth and mystery. Both the wine and her art offer complexity and warmth, inviting viewers and sippers alike to lose themselves in their bold, yet refined beauty. Together, they create a pairing as evocative as a winter mountain retreat.
