Art is often more than something we just look at — it is something we feel. Every piece tells a story, evokes a memory or stirs up deep emotions.  Whether it’s through bold colors delicate brushstrokes, or abstract forms, art allows us to experience and wide range of emotions that help us connect with ourselves and the world around us.  Choose art to create a specific feeling in the spaces you live in.  You’ll be surprised how quickly your brain and body respond to it!  Here are few that heightened my emotions immediately.

Pure Joy

Hunt Slonem’s “Peacock in Blue and Green” is vivid and lively.  This 36″ x 48″ oil painting captures the beauty and grace of the peacock, radiates positivity and light, and invites the viewer to feel uplifted.  The bold colors and dynamic composition fill a space with energy.  Choose something like this in an area where you see it first thing in the morning, and want to feel invigorated and joyful.

Deep Meditation

Matt Flint’s “Still Standing” asks the viewer to reflect.  The soft colors and quiet composition paired with the strength of the bear, evoke inner strength and inner peace.  The 72″ x 48″ artwork serves as a visual meditation perfect for spaces where admiration and calm are needed.  It allows the view to pause and find stillness in their daily life.  It would be marvelous in the family room after a long day of work or skiing.

Curiosity and Wonder

“Untitled Monolith” by Sara Edgar is an abstract piece that sparks curiosity and fascination.  With it’s mysterious form yet recognizable symbols, it encourages it’s viewers to explore its meaning.  The ambiguity of the pieces allows for personal interpretations, making it the perfect conversations starter where creativity and thoughtfulness are invited.  A work studio, study, or conversation area will light up with Sara’s 48″ x 48″ artwork.

Nostalgic Peace

America Martin’s “Hello Golden Sunshine,” 40″ x 40″, reminds us of the calm found in nature, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.  It evokes a feeling of tranquility with soft desert tones and a landscape that feels both timeless and serene. Its warmth and quiet strength make it ideal for almost any space.  Add this piece to your entry, setting an emotional intention of calm for your guests.

Thinking about emotional connectivity to art helps us choose pieces that resonate on a deeper level, creating a more meaningful connection to the art. When a piece of art evokes emotions, it becomes more than just a decoration – it becomes a reflection of our inner world, our memories and our feelings. By considering how art makes us feel, we choose pieces that bring us joy, comfort, or inspiration, enhancing both our environment and our emotional well-being.
